When most of us think of the term “Social Media”, we instantly think of seeing status messages from friends and family about the days’ activities, pictures of a college roommate’s recent trip to the Bahamas, or Grandma’s new “favorite” recipe that she posted on your wall. Correct? Although these platforms also have strong business influences, they still remain very “people” based. So, what about those of us who are serious about marketing our businesses without all the “frills” of being social? If this sounds like you, I have the answer to your question! It’s called LinkedIn.
LinkedIn is the #1 business networking site that is known to be extremely reliable for bringing increased traffic and leads to your business. Sounds good right? Would you like to get started but don’t know how? I’m here to help! First, every serious marketer has a fully completed LinkedIn profile. This includes a short bio, complete education and work history, and links to your other websites and profiles. The link backs are a particularly crucial because it aids other LinkedIn users in verifying the authenticity of your “brand”. Also, LinkedIn experts encourage users to fully utilize the advanced search option of the site to locate and connect with those
that might be interested in offered products and services. Also, they point out that the groups on LinkedIn are another great way of expanding your contact list and creating business opportunities. Lastly, it is important that LinkedIn users support each other by writing recommendations for the products or services they provide. Remember, positivity and team-work are two main ingredients for being successful in the business world.
Well, I hope you enjoyed this exploration into the world of LinkedIn! Until next time ~ Callie Goode, guest writer
