Your business has its own unique set of marketing opportunities and challenges. The foundations of marketing are the same for every business, some marketing ideas work better for certain types of businesses than it does for others. The key is to figure out what will work best for you, than implement it. However, don’t waste your hard earned $$$$ with the first company you come across. Do the research on multiple companies and pick 3 that looks the best. Then, call and talk to each one of them. Have a set questionaire and ask each company the same question for comparision purposes.
As a Small Business Owner you have the unique advantage of knowing your customers on a personal level. You will have an easier time turning your customers into fans. Give them more than they expect and watch as your customers begin to do the marketing for you.
As a Service Professional you are not the only service that your client uses. So build a referral network with other service businesses that sell to your same target market. If you offer services to businesses you might look at other b2b companies. If you are an accountant you might focus on networking with a marketing company, web designer, or lawyer.
